Finding Levi, the 1st Story in The Charlotte Novella Series

This is the front of the book cover of Finding Levi. The first book of the Charlotte Novella Series.

Finding Levi, the 1st Story in The Charlotte Novella Series

August 21, 2025 Books

About Finding Levi

Announcing Finding Levi, the premier novella in The Charlotte Novella Series! Available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle.

If you are a pet lover, the novella Finding Levi will warm your heart.

On the surface, it is a story about a dog, Levi, and a clinical social worker, Charlotte, who are destined to find each other. But nothing in life is simple. From the minute he was born into the grungy puppy mill, Levi’s life was a roll of the dice. Discarded from the puppy mill, abandoned at a kill shelter and then flown to a faraway rescue, only to be rejected again, Levi’s life was always in jeopardy. How many times can a dog be abandoned before its spirit is broken? If any dog could survive and flourish, it would be this brave and resilient Anatolian shepherd!

Novellas and Books by Kathryn Maietta

The Charlotte Novella Series is something entirely different! This series welcomes you to explore the diverse world of clinical social work. In each novella there is an appearance by Charlotte, a clinical social worker who plays a pivotal role in the lives of the people she touches throughout her career: from an internship in college (Finding Acceptance at the Raleigh Hotel) to a therapist in private practice (Finding Levi) into retirement (Jade’s Journey to Finding Normal).

These novellas are works of fiction. However, there is a definite feel of authenticity to each story. That is because the novellas are based on the author’s lived experiences of being a clinical social worker for over forty-five years! Who better to bring characters to life than someone who has devoted her life to understanding and supporting the human spirit?

Follow Charlotte and observe a clinical social worker’s impact on the characters in each of the six novellas. Immerse yourself in the stories of the heroes, heroines and villains in The Charlotte Novella Series.

Novellas

Why novellas instead of full-length novels? Sometimes you just want to dive into a story from beginning to end in one sitting. Maybe you don’t want to read for a while, set the book down and then, when you get back to your book, wonder, “Now where was I? What was going on?” You can read a novella in an evening, on a flight on a plane, or in an afternoon at the beach.

The Charlotte Novella Series, a fictional series involving Charlotte, a clinical social worker who plays an impactful and frequently pivotal role in the lives of the main characters in each novella:
